Beginning Art

Dive into the world of creativity in this beginning art course! Students will explore a variety of artistic styles including Abstract art, Still Life, Landscape, One-Point Perspective, and Street Art. Along the way, they'll discover the work of influential artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Roy Lichtenstein, Frida Kahlo, Wassily Kandinsky, Katsushika Hokusai, Paul Cézanne, and many more. Through hands-on projects, students will experiment with diverse mediums including pencil, charcoal, oil pastels, watercolors, and acrylic paint—building skills and confidence in expressing their unique artistic voices.

Advanced Art Studio

This advanced art studio course is designed for self-motivated students ready to push the boundaries of their creativity. Building on foundational skills, students will dive deeper into the elements of art and principles of design while exploring advanced techniques and concepts. Projects will include graphic design, 3D art using clay, wire, and other materials, as well as introductions to landscape design, architectural concepts, and installation art. Emphasis is placed on creative exploration, time management, meeting deadlines, and collaborative work. This course challenges students to think critically, work independently, and develop a personal artistic voice across a variety of mediums.

Yearbook

In this dynamic, hands-on yearbook course, students will take on the exciting challenge of documenting the school year through visual storytelling. Combining elements of graphic design, typography, photography, writing, and page layout, students will learn how to craft compelling spreads that capture the spirit of the school community. Skills such as interviewing, note-taking, and journalism will be developed alongside technical and artistic design abilities. Students will work both independently and collaboratively, managing deadlines, contributing to team projects, and completing individual design assignments. Participation in after-school events is required to photograph and report on extracurricular activities, ensuring the yearbook reflects the full scope of student life. Creativity, responsibility, and teamwork are essential in bringing this publication to life.
